Making Cloud SLAs readily usable in the EU private sector
SLA-Ready @ ICT Proposers' day 2016
Today, 26th September 2016, Trust-IT Services CEO Silvana Muscella, will showcase SLA-Ready tools and services at the ICT Proposers’ day, the European Commission’s networking event promoting European ICT Research & Innovation and focusing on the Horizon 2020 Work Programme for 2016-17.
Public authorities, businesses & research communities all over the world continuously produce and manage a huge amount of data. This source of information produces new exciting possibilities for the academic and research community.
Scientists and researchers have to be able to share and re-use this knowledge in order to exploit their work results and open new innovation and growth possibilities.
These opportunities have not yet been fully exploited due to difficulties in accessing, sharing, and ensuring interoperability and re-usability of data. A further problem is the lack of trust and security related to cloud services that delay the adoption of cloud in the aforementioned community.
According to the challenges posed by the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) initiative, SLA-READY, CloudWATCH2 and PICSE Coordination & Support Action (CSA) projects have developed several, useful, free cloud based tools and services that can be adapted in order to support scientists and academics.
These tools and services can support scientists and researchers in case they:
- need guidance on portability, interoperability and security standards (Cloud Standards Guide)
- look for clarification on legal and contractual terms (Legal Services)
- need help to find, read and understand cloud service level agreements in every phase of the cloud service lifecycle (Common Reference Model, Cloud Service Lifecycle, Use Cases, Business Hub)
When: Monday 26 September 2016, 13:45.
Where: Village Excellence, Incheba Conference Centre, Bratislava, Slovakia.
