Making Cloud SLAs readily usable in the EU private sector

Workshop on Governance, Accountability and Compliance in the Cloud

Mon, 16/11/2015
Over the last few years, several efforts have focused on identifying, creating and deploying solutions that could facilitate the adoption of security solutions for cloud services. Solutions span frameworks, architectures, best practices, tools, awareness campaigns and training, aimed at enforcing accountability, managing service level agreements, facilitating procurement. On top of this, it is also important that cloud service customers have a clear understanding security and privacy risks. Making these common practices can also facilitate compliance and governance.
Taking place on 16 November 2015, the workshop on "Governance-Accountability-Compliance in the Cloud" groups together representatives from key players in the cloud industry, public organisations and the Cloud Security Alliance. Participants will see in action pragmatic tools & solutions developed through collaborative work between businesses and research institutes to increase governance, accountability and compliance in the cloud.
The workshop also explores the most important requirements for using different cloud services across the public and private sectors. What are the common requirements and where do the main differences lie? How do current and emerging solutions fit with the objectives of the Single Digital Market?
The workshop wraps up with an insightful interactive panel covering the main takes of the workshop, different angles of accountability, privacy and security, conflicts and trade-offs. Panellists also offer their tips and tricks for cloud customers, cloud service providers and policy makers.
The workshop takes place as part of the EMEA conference of the Cloud Security Alliance, at the Fraunhofer FOKUS, Berlin.
Projects involved: Accountability - A4Cloud, Public Administration - Cloud for Europe, Cloud procurement - PICSE, security service level agreements - SPECS, service level agreements - SLA-Ready.
